March 9th

Someone wrote on Facebook that 2009 would be the year of the penny. Damn Straight. You know if you read it on Facebook it's prophetic.

I'm on board with this plan and found four cents tonight to prove it.

Okay, one was Canadian, but pennies are so poorly regarded that shopkeepers even accept the ones from up north.

Total haul today = .04

TOTAL to date = $19.60

Happy Birthday to all of the Yellow Canaries out there!

That Canadian penny was a gift from me to you (yeah, I'm cheap!). I didn't know your address so I sent it to "Any Street, NYC, US" and I was sure you'd find it. Sorry, didn't have time to gift wrap it :)
Please take her for some sightseeings (she is a big fan of Greta Garbo and she wants to see where she lived and died in nyc).

On the other hand, it's good to have an Elizabeth amongst lots of Abrahams, isn’t it? Too much testosterone in a piggy bank is not a good idea.

Nino, where do you live in Canada?

Also, when you say, "no doubt about it", does it sound like, "no doot aboot it?" Just wondering.

Joe, I live in the beautiful city of Toronto, where you freeze if you stay out in winter, and you kill yourself if you stay inside listening to Celine Dion.

To answer your question, we usually don't say "no doubt about it", because we always doubt about stuff!

As someone who grew up in Upstate New York, Canadian coins were accepted pretty much everywhere the same as American coinage. I've found the same is true here in Western Massachusetts. Are they pickier down there in the city?
