The Park that Pays

My dog and I found one penny at Union Square's little eastern triangle park. I got it before he peed on it.

This is new - I found two pennies on a music stand in a studio on W 21st Street. Also found one on the floor of the pediatrician's office (covered in about three diseases for sure), and another on the sidewalk at 13th and 4th Avenue.

I found a dime today in the gravel of the little oval park just east of Union Square Park. Very gratifying.

I am combining two days of finds here. Yesterday I found a single penny and today - can you believe the coincidence - I found another one! Maybe I'll find a fifty dollar bill when I walk the rascal later on.

Sadly, "Mame's Eleven" does not star Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Rather, it features a penny and a dime with grimy pasts. Let me put it this way, the dime was still wet when I picked it up. In the bathroom of a department store. It's the price I pay to be a collector.

Between the paving stones in Union Square Park this morning I found two pennies *before* 9:00 a.m. The day is young, plenty of time to find more money.

I found two pennies and, in front of a swanky hotel on the Bowery (times sure have changed), a dime. That's another twelve cents for my fortune.

UPDATE - late night dog walk led us to a QUARTER in the street near the cinema at 13th and Broadway. Paving crews have been digging up 13th Street for two nights now getting it ready for a new coat of blacktop. Apparently one of them lost a quarter in the line of duty. I saw it glinting in the red neon and it's mine now.
